What's New for the 2022 Ford Explorer?

Both the King Ranch and Platinum trim levels now let you choose between a second-row bench seat and second-row captain's chairs at no additional charge. • The New 2022 Ford Explorer Trim Levels

The new Ford Explorer comes in six trim levels and one other option. Each of these includes their own set of features and powertrains as well as their own technological devices, creature comforts, and safety programs. These trim levels are:

  • Ford Explorer Base
  • Ford Explorer XLT
  • Ford Explorer Limited
  • Ford Explorer Timberline
  • Ford Explorer ST
  • Ford Explorer Platinum
  • The Explorer ST-Line

A brand-new ST-Line trim level has been introduced for 2022. It has many of the same features as the XLT, including things like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and heated front seats. However, the ST-Line gets a few cabin upgrades when compared to the XLT, with highlights including wireless device charging and a premium 12-speaker sound system from Bang & Olufsen.

Another extra you get when choosing the ST-Line is an advanced navigation system with voice controls. More driver-assistance features are added to this trim level, as well. Great Neck drivers can expect evasive steering assist, a lane-keeping system, adaptive cruise control and a surround-view camera system that can make parking the Explorer an easy task.

What really sets the new ST-Line model apart is its style. Inside, it shows off black interior trim. There is unique synthetic leather upholstery with microfiber inserts to keep you comfortable while looking stylish when cruising around Nassau County. As for the exterior, the ST-Line gives you 20-inch wheels and blacked-out trim. You can make an entrance in Queens with the striking black grille and leave a lasting impression with the eye-catching taillight design.
